Ingredients
Scale
Fruit
- 4 cups fresh watermelon (cut into cubes)
- 8 fresh lemons
Sweetener
- 1/4 cup simple syrup (or liquid honey)
Liquids
- 4 cups water (or sparkling water)
Others
- Ice
- Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare Watermelon: Chop the watermelon into 1-inch cubes, carefully removing the peel and any large seeds to ensure a smooth and refreshing juice.
- Juice the Lemons: Squeeze the juice from the 8 fresh lemons, making sure to remove seeds to avoid bitterness in your lemonade.
- Blend Ingredients: Add the watermelon cubes, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and your choice of sweetener—either simple syrup or liquid honey—into a blender. Blend until you achieve a smooth, consistent mixture.
- Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and any remaining seeds, resulting in about 4 cups of watermelon lemonade concentrate.
- Serve: To serve, combine the watermelon lemonade concentrate with an equal amount of cold water or sparkling water in a pitcher. Add ice and garnish with lemon slices. Alternatively, pour 1/2 cup of concentrate over ice into individual glasses and top with cold or sparkling water for a refreshing drink.
Notes
- You can substitute simple syrup with liquid honey to keep the lemonade naturally sweet.
- For a sparkling version, use sparkling water instead of still water.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less syrup/honey according to your taste.
- Serve immediately for best freshness, or keep refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
- Removing seeds and straining helps achieve a smooth texture.
