Description
Tiramisu is a classic Italian no-bake dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, a creamy mascarpone mixture, and a dusting of cocoa powder.

- 6 large egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1 package (7 oz) ladyfinger biscuits (savoiardi)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional)
Instructions
- In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, whisk egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale. Let cool.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks.
- Fold mascarpone cheese into the cooled egg yolk mixture until smooth.
- Gently fold in the whipped cream until fully combined.
- In a shallow dish, combine espresso and coffee liqueur.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer them in a 9×9-inch dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
- Dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.
Notes
- Use high-quality espresso for the best flavor.
- Do not soak the ladyfingers too long to prevent them from becoming mushy.
- Tiramisu can be made a day ahead for better flavor development.
- Alcohol can be omitted for a non-alcoholic version.
