Description

Juicy chicken pieces coated in a glossy, savory-sweet teriyaki sauce—quick and easy for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1½ tbsp light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch.
  4. Pour sauce over the chicken and stir until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Serve over rice or steamed vegetables, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Marinate chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking for extra flavor.
  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier result.
  • Double the sauce for extra serving over rice or noodles.
  • Adjust sugar and soy sauce levels to taste.
