Tater Tot Casserole is a comforting, all-in-one dish layered with seasoned ground beef, creamy soup, cheese, and crispy tater tots—perfect for busy weeknights or potlucks.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onions are soft. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic and cook 1 more minute. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Spread beef mixture evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup cheddar cheese.
- Arrange frozen tater tots on top in a single layer. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until bubbly and tots are golden and crispy.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
