Description
Candied strawberries are fresh strawberries coated in a shiny, crunchy sugar shell. A fun and easy treat perfect for parties or special occasions.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 pint fresh strawberries (about 15-20), washed and dried thoroughly
- Skewers or toothpicks
Instructions
- Insert skewers or toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer, about 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from heat immediately once it reaches the right temperature.
- Working quickly, dip each strawberry into the hot syrup, coating it evenly.
- Place dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
Notes
- Make sure strawberries are completely dry to help the coating stick.
- Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature reading.
- Work quickly once the sugar syrup is ready as it hardens fast.
