Description
A light, airy, and creamy strawberry mousse made with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, perfect for a refreshing dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
- 3 tbsp cold water
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- Fresh strawberries and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, puree the strawberries with sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
- Heat the gelatin mixture gently until fully dissolved, then stir into the strawberry puree.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream until fully combined.
- Spoon the mousse into serving glasses and chill for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Garnish with fresh strawberries and mint leaves before serving, if desired.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe and sweet strawberries.
- You can substitute gelatin with agar-agar for a vegetarian option.
- Adjust sugar to taste based on the sweetness of your strawberries.
