Description
Fun and easy-to-eat skewers layering fudgy brownie bites with fresh strawberries—perfect for parties, snacks, or dessert on the go.
Ingredients
- 8 oz brownie mix (plus ingredients called for, typically egg, oil, water)
- 1 cup water (or as brownie mix requires)
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled
- Optional: melted chocolate or powdered sugar for drizzling/dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare brownie batter according to package instructions. Pour into a greased 8×8-inch pan.
- Bake brownies until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs, about 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
- Meanwhile, wash and hull strawberries. Pat dry.
- Once brownies are cooled, cut into 1-inch bite-size squares.
- Prepare 12–14 wooden or metal skewers.
- Assemble each kabob: slide a strawberry, then a brownie square, alternating until skewer is filled, ending with a strawberry.
- If desired, drizzle kabobs with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
- Serve immediately, or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 day (bring to room temperature before serving for best flavor).
Notes
- Use homemade brownies or boxed mix—both work great.
- Choose ripe but firm strawberries so they hold their shape on skewers.
- For variety, alternate with marshmallows or banana slices.
- To transport easily, wrap assembled kabobs in plastic or foil.
- Make ahead: assemble just before serving to keep brownies fresh.
