Description
A delicious make-ahead breakfast featuring creamy oats infused with the sweet flavor of strawberries, perfect for a quick, nutritious start to your day.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced (reserve a few for topping)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a mason jar or airtight container, combine the oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Stir until all ingredients are well mixed and chia seeds are evenly distributed.
- Fold in the diced strawberries, reserving a few pieces for topping.
- Seal the jar or container and refrigerate overnight or for at least 6 hours.
- In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
- Top with the reserved strawberries before serving. Optionally, garnish with a drizzle of honey.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen strawberries—thawed frozen berries work well.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
- Letting the oats sit 6–8 hours gives the best creamy texture.
- For extra nutrition, add a tablespoon of nut butter or hemp seeds.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
