Slow Cooker Pork Spare Ribs are tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs simmered in a flavorful barbecue sauce—perfect for effortless comfort food that’s packed with smoky sweetness.
Ingredients
- 3–4 lbs pork spare ribs
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
- Pat ribs dry and rub seasoning mix evenly over all sides.
- Cut ribs into smaller sections if needed to fit in the slow cooker.
- Place ribs in the slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix barbecue sauce, vinegar, and brown sugar. Pour over the ribs.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until very tender.
- Optional: Broil ribs for 3–5 minutes after cooking for a caramelized top. Brush with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
- Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.
Notes
- For smoky flavor, use a smoked paprika or chipotle BBQ sauce.
- Ribs can be prepared the night before and refrigerated in seasoning to deepen flavor.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for later.
