Description

Slow Cooker Pork Spare Ribs are tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs simmered in a flavorful barbecue sauce—perfect for effortless comfort food that’s packed with smoky sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 34 lbs pork spare ribs
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne (if using).
  2. Pat ribs dry and rub seasoning mix evenly over all sides.
  3. Cut ribs into smaller sections if needed to fit in the slow cooker.
  4. Place ribs in the slow cooker. In a separate bowl, mix barbecue sauce, vinegar, and brown sugar. Pour over the ribs.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until very tender.
  6. Optional: Broil ribs for 3–5 minutes after cooking for a caramelized top. Brush with additional barbecue sauce if desired.
  7. Serve hot with extra sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For smoky flavor, use a smoked paprika or chipotle BBQ sauce.
  • Ribs can be prepared the night before and refrigerated in seasoning to deepen flavor.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for later.
