Description

A delicious fusion dish featuring tender shrimp and steak cooked in a savory-sweet teriyaki sauce, served over noodles for a satisfying and flavor-packed meal.

Ingredients

  • 200g steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
  • 200g large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 200g noodles (udon, ramen, or ramen-style)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sake (optional)
  • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 spring onion, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. Mix soy sauce, mirin, sake (if using), honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic in a bowl to make the teriyaki sauce.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned; remove from pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add shrimp and cook for about 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through; remove and set aside with steak.
  5. Pour the teriyaki sauce into the pan and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return steak and shrimp to the pan; toss to coat in sauce.
  7. Add cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through.
  8. Transfer to serving bowls, garnish with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Substitute chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying honey or sugar to taste.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for extra nutrition and color.
  • Marinate steak in half the teriyaki sauce for 15 minutes ahead of time for deeper flavor.
