Description

A rich and flavorful Seafood Garlic Butter Dipping Sauce made with melted butter, fresh garlic, lemon juice, and a blend of spices. Perfect for enhancing shrimp, crab legs, lobster, or scallops with a zesty and buttery kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning or Cajun seasoning (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat to create the base of the sauce.
  2. Sauté the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned to bring out its flavor.
  3. Add flavorings: Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, smoked paprika, salt, and Old Bay or Cajun seasoning if using. Simmer gently on low heat for 2–3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Finish with parsley: Remove the saucepan from heat, stir in the chopped fresh parsley if desired to add freshness and color.
  5. Serve warm: Pour the sauce into a small bowl or ramekin and serve warm alongside seafood such as shrimp, crab legs, lobster, or scallops for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This sauce can also be drizzled over grilled fish or vegetables for added flavor.
  • Keep the sauce warm in a small fondue pot or over a candle warmer during parties.
