Simple and delicious sautéed asparagus, cooked to perfection with garlic and olive oil for a quick and healthy side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb asparagus, trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Trim the woody ends off the asparagus stalks.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the asparagus and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and lightly browned.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Drizzle with lemon juice if desired before serving.
Notes
- Thinner asparagus cooks faster than thick stalks; adjust cook time accordingly.
- For added flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
- Can be prepared ahead and reheated gently before serving.
