- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- Flaky sea salt, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Set aside.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of cookie dough, flatten it, place a small spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center, and wrap the dough around to seal.
- Place on the baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden.
- Let cookies cool slightly, then drizzle with salted caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Allow the caramel to set before serving.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it becomes too soft to handle.
- Store cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- You can use store-bought or homemade salted caramel sauce.
