Ingredients
Scale
Fresh Ingredients
- 4-6 fresh lemons (juiced, approximately 1 cup of juice)
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves (muddled)
Other Ingredients
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 4 cups filtered cold water
- Ice cubes (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Wash and pat dry the lemons and fresh mint leaves thoroughly to remove any dirt or residues.
- Juice Lemons: Squeeze the lemons until you get about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, removing seeds as you go.
- Muddle Mint and Sugar: In a large pitcher, gently muddle the fresh mint leaves with the granulated sugar. This helps release the essential oils and flavors from the mint.
- Mix Lemonade: Add the fresh lemon juice and filtered cold water to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely and the flavors combine evenly.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the mint lemonade over the ice, and garnish with extra fresh mint leaves for a refreshing presentation.
Notes
- Adjust sugar quantity according to your preferred sweetness level.
- Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for vibrant flavor rather than bottled lemon juice.
- If fresh mint is unavailable, mint syrup can be used as a substitute though the flavor won’t be as fresh.
- For an adult version, consider adding a splash of vodka or gin.
- Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours for best freshness.
