Description

Festive Red, White, and Blue M&M Cookie Bars that are chewy, buttery, and perfect for patriotic holidays like the 4th of July.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 cups Red, White, and Blue M&Ms, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and 1 cup of M&Ms.
  7. Spread dough evenly in the prepared pan and press remaining M&Ms on top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until edges are golden and center is set.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake to maintain soft and chewy texture.
  • You can use other seasonal M&Ms for different holidays.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
