Description

Puff Pastry Christmas Tree Pizza Bites are a festive, flaky, and cheesy appetizer shaped like mini Christmas trees, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices or mini pepperoni
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and gently roll out to smooth creases.
  3. Use a Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many trees as possible.
  4. Place pastry trees on prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush each tree lightly with pizza sauce, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Add pepperoni slices and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  8. Brush edges of pastry with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use pesto instead of pizza sauce for a twist.
  • Try different cheeses like cheddar or gouda.
  • Add diced veggies for extra color and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven for best texture.
