Description

A refreshing and tangy pomegranate lemonade that combines the citrusy flavor of fresh lemons with the sweet and tart taste of pomegranate. Perfect for a summer drink, this recipe blends fresh ingredients and offers a sparkling twist with optional sparkling water.

Ingredients

Scale

Juice and Sweetener

  • 5 lemons, juiced
  • 1/3 cup honey (or other vegan honey substitute)
  • 1 cup water

Pomegranate

  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate arils (seeds) or 1 cup pomegranate juice

Additional Liquids

  • 3-4 cups water or sparkling water, to taste

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: Add the fresh lemon juice, honey, 1 cup of water, and pomegranate arils (or juice) into a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and the pomegranate seeds are broken down.
  2. Strain Mixture: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a jug or pitcher to remove the pulp and any hard parts of the pomegranate seeds, ensuring a smooth lemonade texture.
  3. Adjust and Serve: Add the remaining 3 to 4 cups of water or sparkling water to the strained juice. Stir well to combine and adjust dilution to taste. Serve chilled with ice, lemon slices, and extra pomegranate arils if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup to keep the drink vegan-friendly.
  • Sparking water adds a fizzy, refreshing twist but plain water also works well.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste.
  • For an extra cold beverage, chill the lemonade for at least an hour before serving.
  • To make it more festive, garnish with fresh mint leaves or a lemon wheel.
