Description

Classic, easy-to-make apple dumplings wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked in a buttery sugar and citrus soda sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 (8 oz) cans crescent rolls
  • 1 cup butter
  •  cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 oz) can Mountain Dew (or lemon-lime soda)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F and butter a 9 × 13‑inch baking dish.
  2. Peel, core, and cut each apple into 8 wedges.
  3. Unroll crescents; separate into 16 triangles. Wrap each apple wedge in dough and place in dish.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter, add sugar and stir barely until grainy. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Pour mixture over dumplings. Pour soda around edges and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Bake 30–45 minutes until dumplings are golden and sauce is bubbling.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, spooning sauce over top.

Notes

  • For less soda, use ⅔ can or one smaller can.
  • Substitute Sprite or 7‑Up for Mountain Dew.
  • Leftovers keep up to 2 days in fridge; reheat in oven or microwave.
  • Variations: add nuts or raisins in center before wrapping.
