Ingredients
Scale
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Topping
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Mix Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add Egg, Vanilla, and Peanut Butter: Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Then add the creamy peanut butter and mix until the batter is smooth.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour and salt to the wet mixture. Mix gently just until no streaks of flour remain, careful not to overmix to keep the blondies tender.
- Pour Batter into Pan: Spread the blondie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
- Swirl Chocolate: Drizzle the melted semi-sweet chocolate over the top of the batter. Use a toothpick or a knife to gently swirl the chocolate into the blondie batter creating a marbled effect.
- Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 22 to 26 minutes. The blondies are done when the edges are golden and the center is just set; a toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into 16 squares and serving.
Notes
- For added texture and flavor, stir in chopped peanuts or chocolate chunks into the batter before baking.
- These blondies freeze well, making them perfect for gifting or as a make-ahead dessert option.
