Description

These Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Blondies are a delightful twist on classic blondies, combining rich, creamy peanut butter with decadent semi-sweet chocolate swirls. Soft and chewy with a perfect balance of sweet and nutty flavors, they make an irresistible dessert or snack that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Topping

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Baking Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Add Egg, Vanilla, and Peanut Butter: Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Then add the creamy peanut butter and mix until the batter is smooth.
  4. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour and salt to the wet mixture. Mix gently just until no streaks of flour remain, careful not to overmix to keep the blondies tender.
  5. Pour Batter into Pan: Spread the blondie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
  6. Swirl Chocolate: Drizzle the melted semi-sweet chocolate over the top of the batter. Use a toothpick or a knife to gently swirl the chocolate into the blondie batter creating a marbled effect.
  7. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 22 to 26 minutes. The blondies are done when the edges are golden and the center is just set; a toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool and Serve: Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into 16 squares and serving.

Notes

  • For added texture and flavor, stir in chopped peanuts or chocolate chunks into the batter before baking.
  • These blondies freeze well, making them perfect for gifting or as a make-ahead dessert option.
