Fun and festive Patriotic Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes made with colorful cake batter and served in cones—perfect for summer celebrations like the 4th of July.
Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- Red and blue food coloring
- 24 flat-bottom ice cream cones
- 1 container vanilla frosting
- Patriotic sprinkles
- Red, white, and blue star decorations (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the cake mix by combining cake mix, water, oil, and eggs in a large bowl. Beat according to package directions.
- Divide the batter evenly into three bowls. Leave one white, tint one red, and one blue using food coloring.
- Place cones upright in muffin tins for stability.
- Spoon a small amount of each color batter into the cones, layering the colors.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely.
- Frost with vanilla frosting and decorate with patriotic sprinkles and star decorations.
Notes
- Use a piping bag to evenly distribute frosting.
- Ensure cones are not overfilled to prevent overflow during baking.
