Ingredients

Scale

Beef Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder

Toppings & Assembly

  • 24 pieces tater tots, cooked and crispy
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese, cut into small squares
  • 12 small pickle slices
  • 6 cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 piece lettuce leaves, cut into small pieces
  • Mayonnaise, for serving
  • Ketchup, for serving
  • Toothpicks, for assembly

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute the seasonings.
  2. Form mini patties: Shape the seasoned beef into small patties about 1 inch in diameter, making sure they are uniform so they cook evenly.
  3. Heat the skillet: Place a skillet over medium-high heat and allow it to get hot before cooking the patties.
  4. Cook the patties: Add the mini beef patties to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until fully cooked through and browned.
  5. Apply cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a small square of cheddar cheese on each patty to let it melt nicely.
  6. Assemble the burgers: Take one crispy tater tot and spread a small dollop of mayonnaise on top. Layer on a piece of lettuce followed by the cheeseburger patty.
  7. Add fresh toppings: Top the patty with a cherry tomato slice and a pickle slice to enhance flavors and texture.
  8. Top with tater tot: Place another crispy tater tot on top to complete the mini burger ‘bun’.
  9. Secure the layers: Insert a toothpick through the center to hold all the layers together firmly.
  10. Serve: Arrange all the mini tater tot cheeseburgers on a serving platter and serve with ketchup and extra mayonnaise on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Ensure the tater tots are cooked crispy to avoid sogginess in the mini burgers.
  • Use freshly sliced cherry tomatoes and pickles for the best texture and taste.
  • Mini patties can be made ahead and kept warm in a low oven if preparing for a party.
  • Customize with your favorite cheese or add other toppings like onions or mustard if desired.
