Description

This Maple Whipped Cream is an easy and delicious homemade whipped topping that combines cold heavy cream with pure maple syrup and optional vanilla extract for a naturally sweet, fall-inspired flavor. Perfect as a topping for pancakes, waffles, pies, coffee, and a variety of desserts, this whipped cream is light, fluffy, and ready in just 5 minutes without any cooking.

Ingredients

Scale

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (cold)
  • 2–3 tablespoons pure maple syrup (to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the bowl and ingredients. Place a mixing bowl in the refrigerator or freezer to chill it beforehand as this helps the cream whip faster and achieve better volume. Ensure the heavy cream is cold when starting.
  2. Combine the ingredients. In the chilled mixing bowl, pour in the cold heavy whipping cream, add 2 to 3 tablespoons of pure maple syrup depending on your desired sweetness, and add ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract if using to enhance flavor.
  3. Whip the cream to soft peaks. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the mixture on medium-high speed. Continue whipping until soft peaks form, which means the cream holds shape but the peaks gently flop over when the beaters are lifted.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness. Pause to taste the whipped cream and add more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. Mix briefly to incorporate any additional syrup.
  5. Whip to stiff peaks. Continue beating the cream until stiff peaks form, which means the cream stands firm and straight when the beaters are lifted. Be careful not to overmix as it can turn into butter.
  6. Serve or store. Serve the maple whipped cream immediately as a delicious topping, or refrigerate it in an airtight container for up to 24 hours. Gently re-whip before serving if needed.

Notes

  • Perfect topping for pancakes, waffles, pies, coffee, or fall-themed desserts.
  • For a thicker consistency, add a tablespoon of mascarpone or cream cheese during whipping.
  • Use pure maple syrup for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Ensure all ingredients and equipment are cold to achieve optimal whipping results.
