This Lemon Chicken recipe features tender chicken breasts sautéed until golden and served with a rich, zesty lemon butter sauce. Perfect for a quick yet elegant dinner.

- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then lightly coat with flour.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
- If using, stir in heavy cream and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce is smooth.
- Return chicken to the pan and spoon the sauce over it. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a lighter version, omit the cream.
- Great served with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
- You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts if preferred.
