- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon black salt (optional)
Instructions
- Thinly slice the onion and place it in a mixing bowl.
- Sprinkle the salt and red chili powder over the onions.
- Add the cumin powder, chaat masala, black salt (if using), and green chili (if desired).
- Pour lemon juice over the onion mixture and toss everything well.
- Let the onions rest for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of spices to your taste preference.
- For added flavor, you can include thinly sliced cucumber or carrots along with onions.
- Laccha Pyaz can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 1 day.
