Description
Honey Garlic Steak Bites are tender, flavorful sirloin steak cubes seared to perfection and coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze. This quick and easy skillet recipe makes a perfect appetizer or main dish for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season and Sear: Season the sirloin steak cubes generously with salt and black pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes in a single layer, searing them for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they develop a deep brown crust. Work in batches if your skillet isn’t large enough to avoid overcrowding. Once seared, remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- Prepare Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium and melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in the same skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes if using. Allow the sauce to simmer gently for 1 to 2 minutes until it slightly thickens.
- Combine and Finish: Return the seared steak bites to the skillet with the honey garlic sauce. Toss well to ensure each piece is evenly coated with the glaze and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes to meld the flavors and warm the meat through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the steak bites for a burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately while hot for best taste.
Notes
- Use sirloin or another tender cut for the best texture.
- Cooking in batches ensures even searing and prevents steaming.
- Adjust red pepper flakes amount to control spiciness or omit if preferred.
- Serve with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or a side salad for a complete meal.
- Leftover steak bites can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
