- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and oil until well combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon-sugar layer and spread evenly.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the batter, creating a marbled effect.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- In a separate bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth to make the glaze.
- While the cake is still warm, pour the glaze over the top. Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, add a teaspoon of maple extract to the glaze.
- This cake tastes even better the next day.
- Store covered at room temperature for up to 3 days.
