Description

Creamy and refreshing Greek yogurt‑based sauce flavored with garlic, cucumber, lemon, and fresh herbs—perfect for dipping, drizzling, or spreading.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 12 garlic cloves, minced (about 1 tsp)
  • 1 Tbsp extra‑virgin olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh dill (or substitute mint)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Grate cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture using a paper towel or cheesecloth.
  2. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, drained cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, dill, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir until smooth and flavors are evenly blended.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning—add more garlic, lemon juice, or salt if needed.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours) to let flavors meld.
  6. Before serving, give a final stir and drizzle with a little olive oil or sprinkle fresh dill on top.
  7. Serve chilled with pita chips, veggies, grilled meats, gyros, or falafel.
  8. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • For smoother texture, peel cucumber before grating.
  • To reduce calories, use low‑fat Greek yogurt.
  • Add a pinch of crushed red pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Let it rest overnight for deeper flavor infusion.
  • Substitute fresh mint for dill for a lighter, refreshing twist.
