Description
Fireworks Blondies are chewy dessert bars loaded with festive red, white, and blue candies and sprinkles, perfect for patriotic holidays like the 4th of July.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
- 1 cup red, white, and blue candy-coated chocolates (such as M&Ms)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Whisk in eggs and vanilla until fully incorporated.
- Add salt, baking powder, and flour. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in sprinkles and candy-coated chocolates, reserving some for topping.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and sprinkle reserved candies and sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and center is set.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For extra gooey blondies, remove from oven when slightly underbaked in the center.
- You can use other seasonal candy colors for different holidays.
- Blondies store well at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
