A simple and flavorful rice dish infused with garlic and butter, perfect as a side for any main course.
Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional, adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear; drain well.
- In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the rice and stir for 1-2 minutes to toast slightly and coat with the garlic butter.
- Pour in chicken broth, add salt and pepper, and stir well.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork, stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
- Adjust garlic quantity based on your taste preference.
- Add a squeeze of lemon for a fresh flavor twist.
