Description

A simple and flavorful rice dish infused with garlic and butter, perfect as a side for any main course.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear; drain well.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the rice and stir for 1-2 minutes to toast slightly and coat with the garlic butter.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, add salt and pepper, and stir well.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork, stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter, and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Adjust garlic quantity based on your taste preference.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon for a fresh flavor twist.
