Scale
- 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 5 cups thinly sliced and peeled apples (about 5 medium apples)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
- Separate cinnamon rolls and set icing aside. Flatten each roll slightly and press them into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan to form a crust.
- Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour over the crust.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and remaining tablespoon of flour. Mix well.
- Pour apple mixture over the cinnamon roll crust and spread evenly.
- Dot the top of the apples with small pieces of butter.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover the edges with foil if they brown too quickly.
- Let pie cool for 10–15 minutes. Drizzle reserved icing over the warm pie before serving.
Notes
- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for a more complex flavor.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
- You can make this ahead and reheat before serving.
