Description

This easy cinnamon roll apple pie combines the gooey goodness of cinnamon rolls with the sweet, spiced flavor of apple pie, making it a perfect quick dessert for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 5 cups thinly sliced and peeled apples (about 5 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. Separate cinnamon rolls and set icing aside. Flatten each roll slightly and press them into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan to form a crust.
  3. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour over the crust.
  4. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and remaining tablespoon of flour. Mix well.
  5. Pour apple mixture over the cinnamon roll crust and spread evenly.
  6. Dot the top of the apples with small pieces of butter.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover the edges with foil if they brown too quickly.
  8. Let pie cool for 10–15 minutes. Drizzle reserved icing over the warm pie before serving.
