Quick and flavorful chicken tacos made with seasoned chicken, fresh toppings, and soft tortillas. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or 2 tablespoons homemade seasoning)
- 1/4 cup water
- 8 small flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add shredded chicken to the skillet and stir in taco seasoning and water.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is well-coated and heated through.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Spoon seasoned chicken onto each tortilla.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and cilantro if using.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.

- Use rotisserie chicken for quicker prep.
