Description
A flavorful dry rub perfect for seasoning ribs before baking them in the oven. This blend of spices enhances the meat’s natural flavor and creates a delicious crust.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp mustard powder
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
- Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel.
- Generously rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, coating them evenly.
- Cover and refrigerate the ribs for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Place ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil and bake covered for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes to crisp the exterior.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the cayenne pepper to control spice level.
- Rub can be stored in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
- For added flavor, finish ribs under the broiler or on a grill.
