Description

A flavorful dry rub perfect for seasoning ribs before baking them in the oven. This blend of spices enhances the meat’s natural flavor and creates a delicious crust.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp mustard powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
  2. Pat the ribs dry with a paper towel.
  3. Generously rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, coating them evenly.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the ribs for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
  5. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  6. Place ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil and bake covered for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  7. Uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes to crisp the exterior.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the cayenne pepper to control spice level.
  • Rub can be stored in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
  • For added flavor, finish ribs under the broiler or on a grill.
