- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest

- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream cheese layer)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add sour cream, milk, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese with 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour half of the lemon batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spoon the cream cheese mixture on top and spread evenly. Top with the remaining lemon batter.
- Swirl lightly with a knife for a marbled effect if desired.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
