Description

Rich, smooth, and decadent dark chocolate truffles that melt in your mouth, perfect for gifting or indulgent treats.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225g) dark chocolate (70% cocoa), finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
  • Cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or melted chocolate for coating

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer, then remove from heat.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes to melt the chocolate.
  4. Stir gently until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  5. Add vanilla extract, salt, and butter. Stir until incorporated.
  6. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  7. Using a small scoop or spoon, scoop out portions and roll into balls with your hands.
  8. Roll each truffle in your desired coating (cocoa powder, nuts, or melted chocolate).
  9. Place finished truffles on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
