Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Seasonings and Sauce
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (approx. 1 oz)
- 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix (approx. 1 oz)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup butter (4 tablespoons)
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot, arranging them in a single layer for even cooking.
- Mix the sauce: In a separate bowl, combine the ranch seasoning mix, dry Italian dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, softened cream cheese, and butter. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.
- Add sauce to crockpot: Pour the combined sauce mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Slow cook the chicken: Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours until the chicken is cooked through and very tender.
- Shred the chicken: Once cooked, remove the lid and shred the chicken with two forks directly in the crockpot, mixing it into the creamy sauce for consistency.
- Serve: Spoon the creamy shredded chicken and sauce over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta for a hearty and delicious meal.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom or cream of celery for a different flavor.
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid in the last 30 minutes to let some liquid evaporate.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Use gloves or a fork to shred the chicken carefully to avoid any toughness.
- Adding fresh herbs like parsley or chives before serving can brighten the dish.
