Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 3 large russet potatoes, cut into thin fries
Seasonings
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Toppings
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Additional Parmesan for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
- Soak the fries: Place the cut fries in cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps in achieving maximum crispiness. Then drain and pat them very dry with a clean towel.
- Season the fries: In a large bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Arrange on baking sheet: Spread the seasoned fries out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they don’t overlap to allow even cooking and crispiness.
- Bake: Bake the fries for 35 to 40 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure all sides become golden brown and crisp.
- Add toppings and serve: Remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, use convection bake if your oven supports it.
- Feel free to add a pinch of chili flakes for some heat.
- Garlic powder can be used instead of fresh garlic for a milder garlic flavor.
