Ingredients
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter with olive oil over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Sprinkle in the flour and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
- Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and milk, stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Add grated parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and toss until well coated.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra parmesan if desired.
