Description

Creamy Garlic Penne Pasta is a comforting, quick dish featuring al dente penne tossed in a rich, velvety garlic cream sauce, perfect for an easy weeknight dinner or to impress guests.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter with olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Sprinkle in the flour and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and milk, stirring until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add grated parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce and toss until well coated.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or bacon for extra protein.
  • Stir in sautéed mushrooms or spinach for added flavor and texture.
  • Use gluten-free pasta if needed.
  • Sprinkle red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat gently with a splash of milk or cream to loosen the sauce.
