Description

A delicious and flaky pastry filled with a sweet cream cheese filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Unfold the puff pastry sheet and cut into 4 equal squares.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry slightly inward or twist them for a decorative shape.
  6. Whisk egg and water together to make the egg wash and brush over the pastry edges.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • You can add fruit preserves on top of the cream cheese filling for variety.
