Ingredients
Scale
Pop Bread
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (homestyle or buttermilk)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- Prepare the Biscuits: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cut Biscuit Dough: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces (quarters).
- Coat Biscuit Pieces: In a large mixing bowl, pour the melted butter over the biscuit pieces. Toss the dough pieces to coat them evenly with butter.
- Add Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered biscuit pieces, tossing gently to coat all pieces evenly.
- Assemble the Pop Bread: Place the cinnamon-sugar-coated biscuit pieces in the prepared baking dish, stacking them randomly or in layers to ensure even cinnamon coverage.
- Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and puffed up.
- Make the Glaze: While the bread is baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Adjust milk quantity to achieve desired drizzle consistency.
- Glaze and Serve: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the glaze over the warm bread.
- Enjoy: Serve warm and pull apart the gooey, cinnamon-layered pop bread pieces.
Notes
- Use homestyle or buttermilk biscuit dough for best results.
- Parchment paper lining helps with easy removal and cleanup.
- Adjust cinnamon and sugar amounts to your taste preference.
- The glaze can be thickened or thinned by adjusting milk quantity.
- Serve immediately for the best gooey texture, but leftovers can be reheated gently.
