Description

Churro Snacks are a sweet and crunchy treat combining bite-sized puffed corn cereal with a buttery cinnamon sugar coating. Easy to make and perfect for snacks, parties, or lunchboxes, this no-bake recipe delivers the nostalgic flavor of churros in a convenient, crispy bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 cups bite-sized puffed corn cereal (like Corn Pops or churro-style cereal)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Mix: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set this mixture aside for later use.
  2. Melt Butter Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Remove the pan from heat once done.
  3. Coat the Cereal: Transfer the puffed corn cereal to a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm butter mixture over the cereal and gently toss to ensure every piece is evenly coated.
  4. Add Cinnamon Sugar: While the coated cereal is still warm, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over it. Toss again gently until all cereal pieces are well covered with the cinnamon sugar.
  5. Cool and Crisp: Spread the churro snacks out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Allow them to cool for 10 to 15 minutes to crisp up before storing.
  6. Store: Once completely cool, transfer the churro snacks to an airtight container to maintain their crunch and freshness.

Notes

  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or drizzle with melted chocolate for an extra flavor twist.
  • Perfect for lunchboxes, party snacks, or holiday treats.
