Description

A festive and hearty Christmas breakfast perfect for starting the holiday morning with warmth and joy. This meal includes a variety of sweet and savory options to please the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices of brioche or challah bread
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 strips of bacon
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup hash browns

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and place on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Bake the bread slices for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  5. In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Set aside on paper towels to drain.
  6. In the same skillet, cook the hash browns until golden and crispy. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese to melt.
  7. Warm the maple syrup in a small saucepan or microwave.
  8. Serve the baked French toast with fresh strawberries and warm syrup on top, alongside cheesy hash browns and crispy bacon.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for best texture in French toast.
  • Add a dash of nutmeg for extra holiday flavor.
  • Top with whipped cream for an indulgent touch.
  • For a vegetarian option, skip the bacon or use a plant-based alternative.
