Description

Decadent chocolate brownies topped with juicy strawberries and a rich chocolate ganache, combining two favorite treats into one irresistible dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for ganache)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  7. Arrange halved strawberries cut-side down over the cooled brownies.
  8. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth to make ganache.
  9. Pour the ganache over the strawberries and spread evenly. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Notes
