Description

A simple and healthy stir-fry dish featuring tender chicken and crisp broccoli in a savory garlic sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thin
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken slices and cook until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet. Stir the sauce mixture and pour it into the pan.
  7. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli.
  8. Drizzle with sesame oil, season with black pepper, and adjust salt if needed.
  9. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate chicken in a bit of soy sauce and garlic for 15 minutes before cooking.
  • Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
  • Add bell peppers or snap peas for extra veggies.
