Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced thin
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken slices and cook until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Return chicken to the skillet. Stir the sauce mixture and pour it into the pan.
- Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli.
- Drizzle with sesame oil, season with black pepper, and adjust salt if needed.
- Serve hot over cooked rice.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate chicken in a bit of soy sauce and garlic for 15 minutes before cooking.
- Use tamari for a gluten-free version.
- Add bell peppers or snap peas for extra veggies.
