Description

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender, seared sirloin steak bites tossed with al dente rotini pasta in a rich and creamy blend of mozzarella, Parmesan, and cheddar cheeses, finished with garlic and a hint of smoked paprika for a perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 12 ounces rotini pasta

Steak and Seasoning

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Cooking Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  2. Season and Sear Steak Bites: Season the sirloin steak pieces with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites in a single layer and sear for 1 to 2 minutes per side until browned and just cooked through. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic and Prepare Sauce: Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, add butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer on medium-low heat.
  4. Add Cheeses: Stir in the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and shredded cheddar cheeses. Continue stirring until all the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Combine Pasta and Steak: Return the cooked rotini pasta and seared steak bites to the skillet. Toss everything together thoroughly to coat the pasta and steak evenly with the cheesy sauce. Cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve the cheesy steak bites and rotini pasta hot for a delicious and hearty meal.

Notes

  • For enhanced flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine or beef broth before adding the heavy cream.
  • This dish pairs well with sautéed mushrooms or fresh spinach added to the sauce.
  • To save time, use pre-cooked steak or leftover beef instead of searing fresh steak bites.
