Description

Savory, cheesy sausage balls baked to golden perfection—ideal for parties, breakfast, or snack time.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons milk (if needed for binding)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190 °C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground sausage, shredded cheddar, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  3. Mix thoroughly until well combined; if mixture seems dry, add milk one tablespoon at a time.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1‑inch balls and place them about 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Swap part of the cheddar for pepper jack for a spicy kick.
  • Freeze baked sausage balls in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat in a 350 °F oven for about 10 minutes or until warmed through.
  • Use gluten‑free flour to make this recipe gluten-free.
