Scale
Filling
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
Buns
- 6 large soft buns (like brioche or burger buns)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the buns.
- Prepare the chicken filling. In a large bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, mayonnaise, chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Hollow out the buns. Slice the tops off each bun and carefully scoop out a portion from the center of the buns to make room for the chicken filling without breaking the bun.
- Fill the buns. Generously spoon the chicken mixture into each hollowed bun, ensuring each one is well packed with the cheesy dynamite filling.
- Prepare for baking. Place the filled buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter for a golden crust and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
- Bake the buns. Put the tray into the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops of the buns are golden brown.
- Serve warm. Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm for the best taste experience.
Notes
- For extra heat, include chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce in the chicken mixture.
- These buns are ideal party snacks or lunchbox treats.
- You can prepare the buns in advance and reheat them before serving.
