Description
A fragrant Italian-style dipping oil blending olive oil, garlic and Italian herbs—just like at Carrabba’s.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- 1 tbsp dried parsley
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- 1½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried rosemary
- 1½ tsp coarse sea salt
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, crushed or minced
- Extra virgin olive oil (to serve)
Instructions
- Combine crushed red pepper, black pepper, oregano, basil, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, sea salt and fresh garlic in a small bowl.
- If serving immediately, spoon ~1 tbsp of spice mix into a shallow dish.
- Drizzle about ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil over the spices (adjust to taste).
- Toss gently or swirl bread in it. Serve immediately. Save extra spice mix in an airtight container.
Notes
- Use 1 Tbsp dry mix per ¼–⅓ cup olive oil.
- You can mix fresh herbs with dried or substitute dried garlic if omitting fresh garlic.
- Best quality extra virgin olive oil uplifts the flavor.
- Store dry spice mix in airtight container for several weeks; omit fresh garlic for longer storage.
