Ingredients
Scale
Buffalo Hummus Ingredients
- 1 (14 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/4 cup cayenne pepper hot sauce (Frank’s recommended)
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Fresh chives, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Drain and rinse the chickpeas thoroughly to remove excess liquid and any canned taste. Peel the garlic clove and gather all other ingredients to have them ready for blending.
- Blend the Hummus: Place the chickpeas, garlic clove, cayenne pepper hot sauce, tahini, olive oil, and salt into the bowl of a food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, pausing occasionally to scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure even blending.
- Serve: Transfer the blended hummus to a serving bowl. Optionally, sprinkle freshly chopped chives on top for added color and flavor. Serve immediately with pita bread, chips, or fresh vegetables for dipping.
Notes
- Use Frank’s red hot sauce for authentic buffalo flavor.
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the level of spiciness.
- For a smoother texture, you can peel chickpeas before blending, although this is optional.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 3-4 days.
- Chives add a nice fresh garnish but can be omitted if unavailable.
