Description

A comforting and hearty beef noodle casserole made with ground beef, egg noodles, tomato sauce, and cheese, perfect for a family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and cottage cheese together.
  7. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half the noodles, then half the sour cream mixture, then half the beef mixture. Repeat layers.
  8. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cottage cheese with ricotta if preferred.
  • Add chopped bell peppers or mushrooms for extra vegetables.
  • Use whole wheat noodles for a healthier option.
