Description

This Banana Chamomile Tea Smoothie is a soothing and refreshing drink that combines the calming properties of chamomile tea with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas and honey. Perfect for a relaxing moment, this smoothie blends brewed chamomile tea, ripe banana, honey, and milk or milk alternative to create a creamy, flavorful beverage that’s as delicious as it is calming.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 1/2 cup Brewed Chamomile Tea (Use high-quality chamomile for depth)
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Chamomile Leaves (Optional, adds visual charm)

Fruit and Sweetener

  • 1 large Ripe Banana (Pick bananas with brown spots for maximum flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey (Opt for raw or organic for the best taste)

Liquids and Extras

  • 1 cup Milk or Milk Alternative (Almond or oat milk adds nuttiness)
  • 1 cup Ice Cubes (Optional, for a refreshing twist)

Instructions

  1. Brew Chamomile Tea: Heat water to a gentle boil and steep 1 tablespoon of dried chamomile leaves or a chamomile tea bag in 1/2 cup of hot water for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain the leaves, then allow the brewed tea to cool completely.
  2. Prepare Banana: Peel the large ripe banana and slice it into chunks for easy blending.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Add the cooled chamomile tea, banana chunks, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 cup of milk (or milk alternative) into a blender. Include ice cubes if you prefer a colder smoothie.
  4. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all the ingredients on high speed for 30 to 45 seconds until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Pour the smoothie into a glass, and optionally garnish with dried chamomile leaves or a banana slice. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey according to taste.
  • Using ripe bananas with brown spots will enhance the smoothie’s natural sweetness and flavor.
  • To make the smoothie colder without watering it down, use frozen banana chunks instead of ice cubes.
  • This smoothie is best consumed immediately to retain freshness and flavor.
